Field Service Booking App — Concept Project
An internal concept for a mobile booking app connecting customers who need on-site service work with a small team of field technicians.
Challenge
Small field-service businesses (repairs, installations, home services) often manage bookings by phone and text, which works at a small scale but breaks down as the schedule fills up — double-bookings, missed messages and no visibility into where the team is.
Approach
We designed around the two people who actually use the app differently: the customer booking a visit, and the technician managing a schedule on the move. Each needed a genuinely mobile-first experience, not a shrunk-down web form.
Product
A two-sided mobile app: customers book and track a service visit, technicians see their schedule, accept jobs and update status from the field — built to work reliably on a phone, including on a weak connection.
Key features
- Customer-facing booking and visit tracking
- Technician schedule and job-status view
- Designed for real field conditions, not just office Wi-Fi
